MASP is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ticket counter always closes 30 minutes before closing time. Admission is R$50.00 and allows the visitor to enter all the exhibitions running on that day. Admission is free on Tuesdays. Students, teachers and senior citizens over the age of 60 pay half-price, R$25.00.
The exhibition rooms and all the artworks in MASP’s collection can be photographed by visitors, as long as it is only for personal use, and not using professional equipment.
The use of flash and tripods is prohibited in all the spaces, as is also any sort of video recording or use of motion picture film cameras (except for teams previously scheduled and accompanied by MASP Communication Department staff).
Not all the temporary exhibitions can be photographed, check with staff or signage in the space concerning this possibility. Rules for artworks on loan follow the rules of the lending institution or artist.
We ask visitors to respect the distances established by MASP in regard to how close visitors may approach the artworks, and to take care in regard to the well-being of other visitors. Photographs taken at MASP may not be commercialized, and MASP holds the copyright on images of the artworks in its collection, as well as on images of its building and facilities.
Requests from the press and from producers can be sent to imprensa@masp.org.br.
Teachers, independent groups of students, NGOs and the like who wish to bring their group to the museum can guide them independently through the exhibitions, according to their own planning and interests. MASP offers free admission to groups of a public nature and assists teachers who wish to organize their own visit. To inform MASP about the visit of your group to the museum, request free admission or obtain further information, write to agendamento@masp.org.br. MASP is also interested in rethinking its way of relating with schools. If you are a teacher or student, or linked to some school and wish to propose a longer collaboration with the museum than the duration of the visit, please write to agendamento@masp.org.br.
Requests for the use of images of artworks from MASP’s collection in publications, academic articles, films or other media should be sent through the form at https://goo.gl/forms/PldVdtnr4FEpzf3z2. Requests of images of works in the collection and of MASP’s façade or building, for publication in the press or commercial purposes should be sent to the email address imprensa@masp.org.br.
We give priority to works that aim to inform the general public about the museum and its activities, and which do not have commercial goals. Requests for images of MASP’s artworks, building or façade, for publication in the press or for commercial purposes, should be sent to the email address imprensa@masp.org.br. Once authorized by MASP, the recording/filming/photography session in the exhibition rooms can be carried out only with indirect light. We request special care with the equipment in general (such as backpacks, tripods and equipment with cables, supports, etc.), always observing that it does not make contact with the artworks in any way. The entire team should remain in a group and always with the presence of museum staff, until the end of the work.
We are grateful for interest in MASP. The main information about the museum can be found on the site, and for deeper research we recommend consulting the archive in the museum’s Research Center. Visits to the archive can be scheduled by email centrodepesquisa@masp.org.br.
The plaza under the free span is a public place that belongs to the Prefeitura de São Paulo – Regional Sub-Prefeitura da Sé, and is administered by MASP. Send to MASP’s Shows and Events Coordination Team auditorios@masp.org.br a complete description of your project, with the goals of the event, the period of its holding (counting setup and takedown), a listing of team personnel and documents. For preservation of the building we have a weight limit that can be supported by the plaza under the free span, due to the museum’s underground levels, and this detail must be observed before the holding of an event; we also have restrictions about sound levels. Organizers should note that the plaza under the free span is a public square and as such can be the site of public manifestations at any moment, without our prior knowledge. After liberation by MASP, it is necessary to obtain authorization from the Sub-Prefeitura da Sé, and other agencies that will be involved (Compresp, Condephaat, Lei Cidade Limpa, CET, as the case may be).
